Boiling
Where the victim (as you see in the illustration photo below) is dipped in a big bowl. This method was used in Russia and Europe 3000 years ago and they used oil, acid or water. This type is considered slow and extremely painful.
Burning
was used mostly by the Romans where they burned those who are accused of heresy, treachery or witchcraft.

Burying alive
This method depends on burying a person inside a closed, small and dark place like a cave or tomb where the victim suffers from asphyxiation. Oxygen shortage for few minutes can lead to untreatable brain damage like paralysis and when 4-5 minutes are over, the victim dies eventually.
Crushing
this is executed by crushing the victim mainly using huge a boulder or an elephant where it mounts the victim’s head.
Beheading
AKA Qasas in the Islamic Culture and used mainly in Sharia Compliant countries like KSA. It’s used also in Iraq, The Philippines, Indonesia, Chechnya, China and Japan. It’s also considered less painful than other types because the executioner will make sure that his sword is sharp like a razor in order to spare the victim any pain which leads to a fast and swift death.
Drowning
as it sounds, it is executed by drowning the victim into deep water after weighing him up with big stones or other heavy materials to keep him down.
Electric Chair
Here, the victim is fastened to a chair with electrodes being attached to him and a sum of 2000 Volts will go through his body mercilessly for 15 seconds or so till his heart stops beating! Meanwhile, the victim’s temperature will reach 60 C. which will cause severe damage to his internal organs. Also, a masking tape is used to fold his eyes list they pop out of their sockets. This method is still used in several American States.
Suffocation Chair
looks like the previous method but this one is designed to suffocate by squeezing the neck to death. This method was used in Spain till 1974 when Franco’s regime ended.
Gas chamber
this method was first used in USA and North Korea in the beginning of 1920. Here, the victim is locked in a special room, and then, lethal gas will be released from different openings. This kind of gas is translucent and they advise the victim to inhale it quickly to avoid suffering.
Guillotine
Is considered an easy and quick way to death! The victim lays on his back looking upwards, while the sharp blade is released to cut-off the head. This method was very famous in France between 1799 – 1789. Last use of the guillotine was in France also in 1939 on a person accused of murdering 6 people.
Hanging
Everyone knows this method where it leads to death for many reasons: choking, breaking the neck or heart attack. This method is still used in many countries.
Shooting
this is the easiest way where the bullet leads to death instantly like method no 5 and 10. It is used in almost all the countries around the world.
Stone pelting
this method is also considered Qasas and used in Sharia Compliant countries. Here, half of the victim’s body is buried and people will gather to pelt the person to death. This method is used against married people who commit adultery.
Lethal injection
Many toxic materials are used in this method but all lead to heart failure then ultimate death. It takes 7 to 11 minutes to cause death; however, the victim will lose senses within 30 seconds only, and then will be paralyzed after 45 seconds and in additional 30 seconds, the heart will stop beating.
Impalement
Now here is the last and the most painful and interesting death method. It implies inserting or piercing a person’s body with a long stake. This stake could go through the sides, rectum, vagina or mouth and eventually leads to painful death that may last for days! This method was used by Neo-Assyrian Empire, Greek empire, and Roman Empire.

Wow so many ways to kill people legally. I am not against death palenty but it shouldnt be barbaric. it should be easy and quick.

I'd choose the lethal injection it would be painless you would be put to sleep basiclly and wouldnt wake up
There has never been any merciful way to punish the guilty.
I do hope the murder rate went down and/or goes down with all of these torture methods.
If given the choice, i'd take the guillotine!

1-Crucifixion is a sensitive subjecy, that's why I didn't go deep inside the subject.
2-There are lots of death sentences, but I mentioned only the interesting and weird ones.
3-It's not about being actual or legal, I mentioned what matters and all of them are actual...
4-The title was 16 and I changed it later but the web wasn't changed!
